I led the curriculum development for a year-long training and reporting project for the Earth Journalism Network, for which my team of three won a competitive grant.
I worked with two external training consultants, including fellow grantee Siew Lyn Wong, co-founder,Macaranga. The team designed a two part virtual workshop curriculum covering wildlife trafficking, deciphering scientific papers, data and biodiversity, story mapping, and more.
This project involved creating a curriculum for a two part training, post training assignment for our participants from 10 Asian countries.
For the second edition of Asia Media forum I designed two trainings for 20 journalists from across Asia. The forum took place in Sri Lanka and brought together journalists from across the region to deliberate on global issues from a local lens.
The first training was curated on storytelling techniques and collaborative journalism. The curriculum was designed to bring the cohort together and help them identify the overlaps in their reporting.
I was part of the team to revise the curriculums for the recertification of the Google News Initative India Training network training project in 2023.
Four curriculums were reviewed and reworked through an intenstive two day in-person exercise with leading experts. Channeling discussions, and ensuring the workshops led to the successful development of fresh curriculums apart from contributing thematic experitise were part of my role as the facilitator for one of the modules.
Consulted for IREX Global to develop their flagship 4-module course for experiential learning, making Indian youth more resilient to misinformation. My work as the subject expert was to ensure the building of a high quality and interactive curriculum well suited to the Indian context. I adapted and reworked their Balkans region media and information literacy.
The project supported by USAID developed a series of online media literacy courses to boost young Indians’ resilience to information manipulation. Youth from five cities across India gained essential skills to navigate today’s information environment.
The program created tremendous impact with attendees flooding social media with testimonials and the project reciving a renewal for the second year.
Invited to conduct a workshop on Regulating Misinformation In India at the first edition of Misinfocon in India, 2023. I designed an interactive workshop to discuss the Digital India Bill with an audience of policy makers, journalists and researchers.
The exercise was aimed at making the attendees look at this important piece of regulation from a critical lens to engage a diverse set of stakeholders in the policy making process and encourage them to participate in consultations and discussions on the bill.
